From early February 2006, despite rain, hail, snow, freezing cold temperatures and a little sunshine work commenced.
During the following months a team of volunteers and members of CAST removed the overgrown bushes and trees which had taken over the site.

The site is almost cleared.
Paths are being laid, most of the rubbish has been removed from the site, a number of plots have been allocated and one plot already has early potatoes planted!!!

August 2006.
The hedges have grown, eager gardeners have planted loads of vegetables but the rabbits are having a field day!!!! Still more work to be done on the general site.

June 2007 - Rain, rain, rain....

These photos were taken 2 days after the storm. Look at the tide mark on the bench, better seen in the enlargement. It is about 8" from the top of the bench. More heavy rain expected in the few days.

One of a number of worst hit plots. No way through except by boat!!

Bedding boards just floating around. A sleeper in the orchard had also been dislodged by the force of the water and was just floating in the orchard.

The polytunnel and the shed where under about 6 inches of water.
The flooding also took out a quarter of the middle plots. There was just a torrent of water passing through this plot the day after the storm.
