176 residents responding to the questionnaire and below are the main issues that were identified.
- Education
People commented that the school is doing a great job. However they would like some out of school activities and play schemes during the holidays.
Adults said they would like more clubs and classes, ranging from photography to cookery, language to yoga and latin dance to dressmaking.

Environment
residents said they would like improved street cleaning, more dog dirt bins, fewer motorcycles and more litter bins. They would also like to see graffiti removed and green areas tidied up.
70% are interested in sustainable energy projects such as wind turbines and solar panels.

Health
People said they find it difficult to register with a doctor and 65% would like a doctor in the village. Many people reported having to travel some distance to see a doctor. 46% would like a chemist for prescriptions in the village.

Community Support
64% would like there to be a good neighbour scheme to stop people being lonely and to help with small jobs.

Housing
Many commented that there are too many boarded up houses and that there are not enough houses for younger families.

Communication
A community newsletter received 80% approval and some have suggested having a central notice board.

More community events would help gel people together more.

Crime and Community Safety
71% think the police coverage is poor and that the police do not respond to0 calls. Antisocial behaviour should be dealt with more effectively.
67% of people would like a neighbourhood watch scheme.

Local Councils
Residents were disappointed with the low level of services received and having no access to services that Gedling Borough Council provide especially leisure services.

Transport
It was suggested that the bus route should be changed to include more of the village. Residents would like to see a more reliable service and better linking to the train service.
It was said that trains should stop more regularly and stop in Bulwell and Hucknall.
Residents would like to see more speed restrictions and some speed warning signs.

Services
Additional sports, recreational and leisure activities were wanted in the village. It would be good if our access to the Abbey were reinstated.
A requirement for more facilities for young people both indoor and outdoor. Uniformed organisations such as Brownies, Cubs and Scouts was also identified as a need.
Residents would like the community centre to be open for longer, particularly the cafe and computer facilities. They would like to know more about the community facilities on offer at the centre.
There was a demand for more shops and food outlets such as takeaways.
